In the absence of formal education and public participation opportunities, digital spaces have become vital lifelines for Afghan women and girls. Yet these same platforms expose them to surveillance, harassment, and disinformation. Window for Hope, supports the safe and ethical use of digital tools to advance learning, advocacy, and connection. We provide secure digital literacy training and resources to Afghan women, especially those participating in underground schools or advocacy movements. We also partner with technologists in the diaspora to develop culturally and linguistically relevant apps and educational content. By promoting access to VPNs, encryption, and alternative learning channels, we aim to preserve intellectual agency and digital rights for Afghan women living under repression. Our focus is not just on access to technology, but on its strategic use for empowerment and global engagement.
