Leadership Development and Mentorship

For Afghan women and girls, mentorship is more than guidance, it is lifeline and resistance. With many young women cut off from schooling and career pathways, the need for encouragement, skill-building, and role modeling is urgent. Window for Hope runs intergenerational mentorship programs that connect experienced leaders in the diaspora or allied movements with Afghan girls and women, whether inside the country or displaced. These relationships foster confidence, vision, and strategic thinking, even in isolation. We support women in identifying pathways to re-engage with leadership be it through civic action, storytelling, entrepreneurship, or informal education. Our leadership model emphasizes adaptability, trauma-informed support, and long-term community-building. We view Afghan women not only as recipients of aid, but as emerging architects of change who deserve investment and partnership.
